Hi Friends!!

If you’re wondering what photography and video gear we use, wonder no more 🙂 Here’s a list and links to goodies we love and use to make the images and videos you see on this website.

CAMERA GEAR:

  • 2x Nikon D4 camera bodies (lovingly referred to as “the Beasts”)
  • 4x Nikon D4 spare batteries (you can never have too much power, right?)
  • 4x 64GB Sandisk Compact Flash cards (reputable and bullet-proof. Big enough to record lots of out-takes)
  • Nikon 24mm f2.8 lens
  • Nikon 24mm f1.4 lens
  • Nikon 35mm f2 lens
  • Nikon 35mm f1.4 lens
  • Nikon 50mm f1.4 lens
  • Nikon 85mm f1.8 lens
  • Nikon 105mm f2 lens
  • 2x Fuji X100s’
  • 2x Holdfast Moneymaker dual-camera straps

FLASH EQUIPMENT:

  • 4x Nikon SU800 Commanders
  • 4x Nikon SB900 flashes (always off-camera)
  • QuiKlips Flash belt clips – for instant flash access
  • 8x Radiopopper PX radio transmitters/receivers
  • 2x Honl strobe grid systems
  • 2x Zoot Snoot
  • looooots of AA and AAA Sanyo Eneloop rechargable batteries
  • 3x Ansmann 12-up chargers
  • 4x La Cross battery chargers

VIDEO EQUIPMENT:

  • Sennheiser shotgun mic with windscreen (connected to D4 mic input)
  • Velbon quick-release carbon fiber tripod (rock solid and super-light)
  • K3 Slider (for those oh-so-nice slide movements)
  • Manfrotto 701 video head (for the above slider)
  • Manfrotto video monopod (skinnier, taller and faster to setup than our tripod)
  • New: Switronix Video Light

*Update on the video slider: Was using a cheapy one and replaced it with the K3 and couldn’t be happier.  It’s smooth, has bumpers, can be mounted for vertical slides.  Super-smooth compared to the old one.
